Show Notes

For years, government officials in Benton County have piecemealed the county’s civil and criminal courts system. Currently, six judges hold court in four different buildings that were not built to be courtrooms. Benton County leaders have set a special election on March 12 to ask voters for a ⅛-cents sales tax increase that will raise about $25 million for a four-story courts facility in downtown Bentonville. In this episode of "Speaking of Arkansas," Benton County Judge Barry Moehring and Susan Anglin, a member of the 15-member Quorum Court, speak about the project, the tax proposal and the need. Moehring and other county officials plan 11 town hall meetings to deliver information about the project across the county. Below are the forum times and locations.
